The view of Conde Nast, the Empire State Building and MetLife from The View Restaurant on the 48th floor of the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. A storm was settling in and rather than go to the top of the Empire we viewed it from afar. At dusk, a purple haze transforms the building and the neon lights play off the surrounding skyscrapers.

Color, reflections and light play from The View Restaurant of the Marriott Marquis and from the flickering neon of Times Square below. This shot was captured on the second rotation during dusk and is a result of Officer Hoolihan’s suggestion, when asked where to visit in the City, while shooting the Central Park portion for a short film for Strava. This is a study of the subtle variations in color and visual mood enhanced through the Photo Editor app and taken with the iPhone 4S’s standard camera app.
