Relationships Don’t Work If You Can’t Make the Friendship a Top Priority

There are two not-so-secret ingredients to making any family/platonic/romantic relationship work:

1. Respect – What do we do when we respect someone? We listen closely and value what the other has to say. This includes ‘constructive’ criticism. We don’t try to control one another’s actions or decisions period. We appreciate each other’s ‘weirdness’. Those little quirks that define who you are as a person.

2.Spend Time Together And Make It Fun – When it all becomes routine, spending time together suddenly becomes a lot less fun and feels more like work. So ‘re-enchant’ yourself with each other often and everyday life. And make that time ‘fresh’ by doing new and different things together instead of the same old same old.

When you don’t have either of these, because they go hand in hand, then what do you have? Really?
